Even with full color strokes of the brush, the colors are transparent enough to show structure lines of the under drawing. Opaque watercolors provide intense, brilliant colors that dry to a velvety finish and can be mixed to produce a variety of shades, retaining rich color values. They can also be diluted for use as transparent washes.
